Random Pilot

About Random Pilot

Random Pilot creates practical browser-based tools for everyday choices, classroom participation, group activities, testing, and creative prompts. The project is maintained as a focused utility site rather than a collection of automated articles.

What we build

Our tools include an editable name wheel, random number and word generators, a coin flip simulator, team assignment, developer utilities, and curated decision templates. Each published tool must perform the task described on its page, expose the settings that affect the result, and explain important limitations.

The interactive generator is the main content of every tool page. Supporting guides are written to help visitors prepare useful inputs, understand how an outcome is selected, and decide whether the result is appropriate for their situation.

How we approach randomness

Where supported, Random Pilot uses the browser's cryptographically secure random source instead of Math.random(). Name-wheel entries receive equal segments unless an entry is intentionally repeated. Team assignments shuffle the submitted list before distributing people across teams. Each tool page describes its own method because number ranges, dates, words, wheels, and UUIDs require different selection rules.

These tools are intended for casual and educational use. They are not independently audited systems for regulated drawings, gambling, medical decisions, legal decisions, financial decisions, security credentials, or any situation that requires a certified random process.

Content and language review

Default lists and explanatory text are maintained in the project source rather than copied from third-party articles. New pages are kept out of search and advertising until their functionality, labels, examples, limitations, metadata, and visible text have received a dedicated review. Translated pages remain available to users while their search eligibility is evaluated separately.

Generated output is never presented as expert advice. Food, travel, date, classroom, and activity suggestions must still be checked for availability, accessibility, cost, consent, allergies, weather, age suitability, and personal safety.

Privacy and storage

Lists, settings, and recent results are normally stored in the current browser so the tools can work without an account. They are not uploaded to Random Pilot unless a page clearly identifies an external service. The random-word tool, for example, may request candidates from the documented word service. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How the site is funded

Random Pilot may display advertising supplied by Google AdSense on reviewed tool pages. Advertising helps keep the core tools available without requiring payment. Ads do not influence generated outcomes, and we avoid loading ads on error pages, empty result views, legal pages, or pages that have not completed review.

Corrections and feedback

If a label, translation, default list, accessibility behavior, or algorithm description appears incorrect, please use the contact page. Reports are reviewed against the current implementation before copy or behavior is changed.
